The term tests will take place in the week of 12th -16th November 2012
1. Revise all the glossaries and texts in Rachel Redford Book 3
2. Revise all the information in your notebooks
3. Shakespeare /Richard 11: (i) continue reading Act 1, Scene 2. (ii) revise the historical facts and the play’s context outilined in the introduction (pages 1 to 4) which we studied in class.
Due date Monday 12th November 2012. Homework should take you 40 to 60 minutes.
Tasks 1 & 2 are obligatory
1) Complete Grammar Practise 3 worksheet sheet.
2) Writing (past tense) - Choose either A or B and please read the criteria as this work will be graded.
A) Write a diary of one day over the school holiday. Try to choose a day where you did something special or different.
Begin your writing “Yesterday I …”
B) Write a “My first” e.g. write about my first pet, holiday abroad. You can use the reading from Elle magazine to help you but please don’t copy.
Criteria (A & B)
· Minimum of 8 sentences.
· Effort e.g. neat writing.
· In past tense.
· Punctuation: each sentence should have full stops and capitals.
· Word order correct.
· Subject and verbs agree e.g. he didn’t come not he don’t come.
· Words are spelled correctly (use a dictionary.)
· Interesting content and language.
Other tasks if you have time
You will have a test the first Thursday back so it would help if you reviewed units 1-3 of English in Mind. Try the exercises on the DVD Rom.
You need to memorise weeks 1-3 of irregular verbs in the past tense. If you know these already great!
